Joseph Sieber is a Swiss pianist, conductor, and music mediator. Starting in the 2025/26 season, he will serve as Assistant Conductor at the Basel Sinfonietta. As founder and artistic director of the Central Switzerland Youth Symphony Orchestra (ZJSO) and the innovative music theater project Verona 3000, he has brought together hundreds of artists and performed annually for thousands of audiences. He studied piano with Konstantin Lifschitz and conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music (UK) and Arizona State University (USA). In 2023, he was a Conducting Fellow at the Lucerne Festival. In 2024, he delivered his first TEDx Talk, Dare to Be an Artist, and directs the mediation project Simple Symphony.
Starting to work in project management and fundraising at the age of 13, leading a group of 100 people in a musical theater production for the first time at the age of 15, and founding one of the now most successful youth ensembles in Switzerland at the age of 21, Joseph Sieber already gained a lot of management and leadership experience in various fields. Additionally, he has over 10 years of professional teaching experience through private lessons as well as at one of the largest high schools in Switzerland.
